Alayna Mala
Alayna Mala was born with a passion and the desire to be close to horses.
The second daughter of Gary and Sheryl Mala, Alayna began her show career at the age of 8 where it was quite apparent that she was destined to be a horse woman.
They purchased a three-year-old Half-Arabian mare, Young and Hot, from Adandy Farm when she was nine years old. From there her show career took off! She won countless regional titles with the young mare, and it was obvious she had been bitten by the “horse bug” and was never to turn back.
Alayna graduated a year early from high school to move to Adandy Farm in 2011 where she has been a valuable addition to the program since 2009. She excelled as an amateur winning many Regional and National titles. She has now moved into a professional position on our farm.
Her responsibilities are endless. She has stepped up to be an asset to the farm as a trainer. Alayna and Cathy keep the farm running smoothly as a team. As a young professional she earned her first National Championships under the mentorship and guidance of Cathy Vincent. Within the last two years she has built a lesson program at Adandy Farm, something that she never thought would take off like it did. Her passion and dedication to teaching young kids to ride and introducing them to the Arabian horse is truly amazing to watch.
“She is a gift from god” and we wouldn’t know what to do without her presence on the farm. As Cathy would say, “she’s a keeper!
